Phyllis L. (Crutchley) Hunter
Phyllis L. (Crutchley) Hunter, 94, went home to be with the Lord December 4, 2005. Born in Cumberland, Maryland and was a resident of Akron for 79 years. She was a graduate of East High School, attended Actual Business College and was employed with W. A. Garrigan and Son Insurance Agency for ten years. She was an active member of Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church for 79 years. She was a gifted writer and wrote many inspirational poems. Preceded in death by her parents Bertha and George Diffenbaugh, her father James Crutchley, brother J. Leo Crutchley, and sister Chaffa Smyth. She is survived by brothers Bruce (Edna) Diffenbaugh of Belpre, Ohio and G. Don Diffenbaugh, sons David (Sarah) Hunter and Daniel Hunter, Sr., grandchildren Scott (Sandy) Hunter and Eric (Anya) Hunter of Williamsburg VA, Daniel Hunter, Jr., Tiffany (Matt) Kellaway of Atlanta GA, great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Austin, Micah and Aiden. Funeral services will be conducted at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kim Barnett officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the service begins. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
