Phyllis Ann Lynum passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Warren Lynum, I; sisters Marilyn (Abraham) Parker-Jeffries and Janice (John) Roberts; her sons Warren II, Alton (Teryn) and step-daughters Liz "Libby" (Jason) Piatt and January Belcher; step-grandchildren Ruby, Sean, Keivon, Jala, and Tai; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and James Parker, and brother Calvin Parker.
Phyllis was born in Lorain, Ohio but was a registered nurse in Akron for 45 years. She trained at the St. Thomas School of Nursing and began her career at Akron Children's Hospital. She also served as an ICU and CCU nurse at Summa and retired from the Crystal Clinic, Surgery Center Recovery Room in March of 2020.
Phyllis loved to travel, especially with her sons. On her list of favorite destinations was
the ocean, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, California, Las Vegas, and Disney World. She also really enjoyed her trip to South Africa with her husband.
The other thing that Phyllis loved to do was to walk and hike trails in the parks. One of her favorite parks was Naturerealm. She especially liked the herb garden.
