Pluma Jean “Jackie” Whitehead, age 94, of Akron passed away on November 27, 2024 at her home. She was born in Greasy Creek, Kentucky on April 28, 1930 to the late John and Bessie Robinson. Jackie moved to the Akron area when she was 15 years old. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Denton and son Denton Eugene.
Jackie is survived by her children Sandy Gazafy, Bill (Robin) Whitehead, and David Whitehead; grandchildren Derek (Carly), Jordan (Karyn), and Alison Gazafy, Kaylin Whitehead, and Denton Whitehead; great-grandchildren Blake Young, and Zaiden Smith, Audrey, Grace, and Will Gazafy; her 3 sisters Joann Wright, Loretta Greer, and Fayetta Burrows; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church (1695 Van Lynn Rd, Akron, OH 44306). Family will meet at Thacker Funeral Home at Noon on December 5, for the procession to the burial in the Robinson Family Cemetery in Greasy Creek, Kentucky.
