Priscilla "Jeannie" (Summers) Powell
Priscilla "Jeannie" (Summers) Powell, 56, passed away March 2, 2005 surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She was born July 20, 1948 in West Virginia but lived in Akron most of her life. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Powell; her father whom she loved very much, Ray B. Summers, Sr.; and her brother, Larry Summers. She is survived by her mother, Alva "Trudy" Summers; daughters, Stephanie L. (John) Shook, Amanda (Allen) Vinson; son, Richard Powell; grandchildren, Jessica Powell, John Shook II, Heather Shook, Brittany Powell, Steven Meck and Brennan Powell; sisters, Linda Pierce, Sue (William) Desrosiers, Michele (Terry) Urdiales; brothers, Ray (Pat) Summers, Gary Summers, John Summers; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Richard Powell, Lavena Longfellow; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
