Rev. R. Wayne Taylor, 76, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 at 10:40 p.m. Wayne was born on October 16, 1947 in Licking, MO to Warren and Pauline (Watson) Taylor. He was a proud resident of Stow, Ohio. Wayne was preceded in death by his father and brother, Ronald Warren Taylor, Sr. He leaves to mourn his passing, wife of 58 years, Donna; sons, Kevin Taylor (Paulette Mercier) of Garrettsville, Ohio, Chad (Amanda) Taylor of Stow, Ohio; grandchildren, Clint (Lavaye) Taylor or Surprise, AZ, Trint (Katie) Taylor of Stow, Ohio, Logan, Peyton, Madalena and Gavin Taylor of Stow, Ohio; great granddaughters, Maddigan and Morgan Taylor of Surprise, AZ; mother, Pauline Taylor of Springfield, MO; brothers, Bill (Terry) Taylor of Union, MO, Wendell (Renee) Taylor of Springfield, MO.
Wayne graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, MO in 1965. He received his BA in Religious Education from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1973. Furthering his education, he received his Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling in 1990 from Liberty University. He was an ordained minister, pastoring for several years. Wayne and his wife Donna spent five years on the Gila Indian Reservation ministering at the Gila River Indian Children's Home. He was a youth pastor at Weston Assemblies of God in Weston, Ohio for three years. Wayne spent eight years pastoring Praise Assembly of God in Garrettsvile, Ohio. He had a deep love for counseling. Wayne spent 27 years at Emerge Counseling Center ministering to ministers and missionaries from around the world. Upon retiring, Wayne taught Bible lessons on his YouTube channel for several years.
He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were always the number one priority in his life.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, July 26, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Bethel Church of Tallmadge, 231 South Ave., Tallmadge, Ohio. The celebration of Wayne's life will follow at 12 noon at the church. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Wayne's name to Convoy of Hope or Bethel Church of Tallmadge.
