Ralph Russell Marks
Ralph Russell Marks, 83, passed away on December 19, 2012.
He had a kind, loving, and gentle heart and was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Born in Circleville, Ohio, he came to Akron in 1941 and made it his home. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War era veteran and a 32nd Degree Mason. He attended North Carolina State College and retired as a truck driver with over 60 years in the industry.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy. He leaves behind his children, Alice Groves (Ronald Mollohan II) of Akron, Amy Marks of Akron and Gary Marks of Massillon, OH; granddaughters, Amanda (Kenny) Mullins of Tallmadge and Nicole Shoemaker of Akron. He also leaves behind his brother, Bert (Eva) Marks of North Ridgeville, sister, Helen Marks of Uniontown; sisters-in-law, Lois Phelps of Cuyahoga Falls and Sandra (Paul) Beauregard of Greensburg, PA; many nieces, nephews, and friends including longtime friend of over 40 years, Shual Sargis of Akron. He also leaves his faithful dog, Buster.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, December 23 from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ralph's family.
