Ray Troyer, 88, of Randolph, passed away on May 21, 2019. He was born in Fairview, Michigan on November 24, 1930 to the late John and Anna Troyer. Ray grew up working on his family's dairy farm and had a lifelong love of the land. As a younger man he worked in a sawmill and then graduated from Central Michigan with a teaching degree. He had a few years with his own classroom and then spent over ten years as a substitute teacher, specializing in History and English. Throughout his life, he maintained a farm of his own. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony "Tony" Troyer; siblings, Clyde Troyer, Delilah Chupp, and Levi Troyer; grandchildren, Stacey Troyer and Abraham Waters; stepson, Jeremiah Hillard; son-in-law, Marc Lowe. Ray will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda; children, Cindi Lowe, Doug (Annette) Troyer, Marcia (Rich) Waters, Arnie Troyer, and Jeanette (Joe) Breaugh; stepchildren, Kenneth (Anne) Hillard and Ann Marie Brown; siblings, Wanda Foster, Paul Troyer, Ruby (Louie) Miller, Edith (Bill) Hooley, and Otis (Jane) Troyer; twenty-four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 3-4 followed by a 4 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
