Raymond Edward Cook, 92, of Akron, passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2023. He was born in Akron on October 10, 1930 to the late George R. and Julia {Swankler} Cook.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother Russell Cook.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sally {Yocono} Cook; children John (Sue), Donn and Eric Cook and Julia (Donald) Owens; grandchildren Sarah Cook, Shawn Cook, Shannon Bennett and Michael Cook; 10 great-grandchildren.
Ray was the owner of Ramon's Night Club and Restaurant. His energy could light up a room, and his giving spirit touched his family and his community. Ray was a true patriot, from his service in the United States Army, right down to the politics of it all. More than anything, Ray's family were his favorite people to spend time with, celebrate and support.
