Raymond E. "Skeeter" Taylor
Raymond E. "Skeeter" Taylor, 66, passed away on May 29, 2008 in his home after a courageous struggle with lung cancer. Born in Akron on January 8, 1942, he remained a resident. He was a member of the Army-Navy 273 as well as the Mogadore Moose 1082 for many years. He will be remembered for his life work of body/paint work and love for classic and historic cars. Special thanks to the following for their support: friend, Michael Haney, brother, Steve and his wife Kathy Taylor, Danny Lazar, Mickey Greathouse, sister, Betty and her husband John Kittinger, brother-in-law, Duane and his wife Pam Yerkey and Summa Hospice. Preceded by his parents, Frank and Caroline Taylor. Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane and children, Michelle (Michael) Maile, David Taylor, Danielle (Rick) Anderson, Erik Martter, Julie (Bobby) Lambert, Scharee Martter (Danny Menendez) and Raymond Taylor II (Jill). He is also survived by brother, Robert Taylor; sister, Linda (Ed) Zielinsky; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. on Monday, June 2 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 3 with Pastor O. Homer Burket officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
