Raymond Warren Millmier

Ray Millmier, age 76 of Portage Lakes, died on August 27, 2021.
Ray served in the US Navy on the USS Guadalcanal. He worked at Goodyear for 39 years starting as a tire builder and retiring as an aircraft tire design engineer with numerous patents. He enjoyed travel, boating, space and especially spending time with his family. Ray and Marilyn spent the last 12 winters in Cocoa Beach together.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; his children, Christopher Millmier, Miriam (Casey) McKinney, Timothy (Melissa) Millmier and Tamara (Dillon) Shammo; six grandchildren; and siblings, John (Linda) Millmier, David (Paula) Millmier, and James Millmier.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Battaglia.
A memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Parish, 750 South Main Street, Akron, OH 44311.
