Raymond J. Nichols

Raymond J. "RJ" Nichols, 81, of Youngstown and formerly of Akron, passed away January 12, 2017. Raymond was born in Akron, Ohio on January 7, 1936 to the late Earl and Sophia Nichols. Raymond retired from Pearl Coffee and Grocery Company with over 25 years of service and prior to that, he served in the U.S Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed flea markets, Civil War memorabilia, antiques and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Raymond now reunites with his loving wife of 30 years, Helen.

He is survived by daughters, Tami Sikora (Bill) and Alana D. Leek (Denny); grandchildren, Denny Leek, Jr., Daniel Leek, Brittany Leek, Brandi Reece and Kenny Reece, Jr., and sister, Sandra Post.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 12 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. He will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
