Raymond Blake Pickelsimer
March 15, 1937 — November 5, 2022
Raymond Blake Pickelsimer, 85, passed away at home November 5, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Hurst, GA to Ernest and Emmagene (Waters) Pickelsimer, he lived in Akron, OH all of his adult life. Ray proudly served in the U. S. Army and he retired from Omnova Solutions after 48 years of service. He enjoyed country music, walking at the metro parks, taking road trips and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Pickelsimer. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Mavis; children, Lisa (Mark) Denham, Ed Pickelsimer; grandchildren, Lauren (Rich), Matt (Melissa); great granddaughters, Madelyn, Gabriella; sisters, Betty Pickelsimer, Marilyn (Walt) Smith.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Ray will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Ray's name to the American Diabetes Association.
