Rebecca L. Boarman

Rebecca (Becky) Jodon Boarman, age 68, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with 4th stage lymphoma on April 5, 2021. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on December 5, 1952 and lived her entire life in the Akron/Canton area after graduating from Ellet High School in 1971. Shortly after graduation, Becky began her career with the North Canton City School system and remained there for over 30 years until her retirement.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: mother, Marilyn Jodon Smith and stepfather, Lombardi "Bardi" Smith; son, Matthew Boarman (Nicole) and their children Zachary, Leah, Camden, Madelyn, Ian, great-grandson Raylen and deceased granddaughter Hannah Jane; daughter, Carrie (Tim) Maloy and their children Tyler, Timothy, Elizabeth (Ellie); and son, Russell "Rusty" Boarman (Lisa) and their children Carter and Mallory; brother, Patrick (Brenda) Jodon; sister, Jeannie Jodon (Terry) Plottner; sister, Linda Jodon (Gary) Louis; along with many nieces, nephews and friends and her precious dog, Bosco.

Becky loved traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She attended The Chapel in Green, Ohio for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd., Akron, OH. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio.
