Rebecca Marie Herrin-Shepard

Rebecca Marie Herrin-Shepard, 61, passed away August 15, 2022 with her family and close friends by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to James Herrin and Jessie Lockett, she was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1979. Then later in life graduated with her master's degree from the University of Akron. Becky was a well respected lady who for many years worked as a counselor, mentor, caseworker at Children Services and many other social work. Becky retired from the Summit County Adult Probation department as a probation officer. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her daughter Whitney, working on house projects with her son Jayson, and making good memories with her long term friends. Becky lived to help everyone she met in any way she could. Becky touched and changed many lives with her acts of kindness and love she spread and her memory will be kept alive by the people who loved her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie "Mac" Shepard; son Wesley Shepard. She will be sadly missed by her children, Whitney Shepard (fiance, Dwayne), Jayson Lockett; and other beloved family members.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal services. Her ashes will be inurned with her husband Willie at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to 973 Hartford Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320.
