Rebecca “Becky” Lynne Reckner

On October 11, 2024, Becky ran into the arms of her Father.

Becky grew up in Copley, OH, graduating from Copley High School in 1964. She graduated from Akron School of Practical Nursing in 1966. Becky began her nursing career at Barberton Citizens Hospital as a pediatric nurse. She then spent the majority of her career as a family practice nurse at Austin Family Medicine in Barberton, OH. She continued her career at Aetna Insurance and then Wayside Farm Nursing & Rehab, where she retired.

Becky loved God, her family, friends, and her patients. She brought joy to everyone she met and spent her life putting others first.

Upon entering heaven’s gates, Becky was reunited with her love Karl Reckner, her parents George and Alpha Pyatt, sisters Lois Hatch and Margery Schoenbaechler, and Brother George “Dick” Pyatt.

Those left to continue her legacy are her children, John (Carrie Pratka) Butcher and Erica Twitchell; Grandchildren Eliana, Kaelynne, and Benjamin Twitchell who lovingly named her “Meme;” and extended family including Cory (Bethany) Reckner, Zach Pratka, Bruce Homan, Sebastian Pratka, Syrus Mcneece, several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care Greater Akron, Gina (her driver), and Dr. Lauren Burns and staff.

A Celebration of Becky's Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday Oct.18, 2024 at Grace Church, Akron East Campus (2330 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44312) led by Pastor Ryan Rodeman. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.

Donations may be made in her honor, to Grace Church, Akron East Campus “Here to There” initiative.
