Renee Kathleen Burns

Renee Kathleen Burns, 45, passed away suddenly April 22, 2022 from complications of an illness. Her loving family was by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Thomas and Christine (Harmon) Burns, she was a lifelong area resident.

Renee was a very gentle human being, amazingly strong, and hilarious even through tremendous hardships. Her compassion and empathy knew no limits. She always wanted to help people with her full ability. For 15 years she worked as a First Responder for the City of Akron Police Department. After leaving her career, she continued to help as many people as she possibly could. She will continue to aid people even in death by being an organ donor.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her children.

Renee was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Burns; grandmother, Helen Harmon; uncle, Tom Harmon. She will be sadly missed by her children, Ellianna (13), Trenton (13), and Phillycia (7); her mother, Christine Burns; her sister, Carrie (Lewis) Diulus; her brother Brian (Mikalyn) Burns; her best friends, Phillip Wilson, Carmina Maerean, and "Grandma" Kelly Howard and many other family and friends.

Everyone is welcome to visit Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
