Rev. Donald E. Payne, 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2013.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Preceded in death by his son, Donald Payne, Jr.; son-in-law, Roger LaTampa; and beloved wife, Virginia. Survivors include his daughters, Cindy (Dale) Smith, Karla (Jim) Robison, and Brenda (Don) Shackelford; sisters, Beverly (James) Fisher, Patricia (James) Dawson, and Sarah (Troy, deceased) Schoolcraft; 9 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., with Pastor Dr. Don Shackelford officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
