Rev. George Allen Riffle
Rev. George Allen Riffle, 78, of Suffield, went home to be with his Lord while surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. He was born March 19, 1929 in French Creek WV to the late John W. & Beulah (Edgel) Riffle and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Rev. Riffle was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. He served as Pastor for 10 years of Freedom Full Gospel Church and served as an assistant Pastor at several other churches. His involvement in ministry spanned 29 years. Rev. Riffle also worked at McNeal of Akron for 16 years and founded Riffle & Son Rental Property in 1975. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert (Paul), Kermit and Edward Riffle; and sister, Jane Caldwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Frances (Eggers) Riffle of Suffield; son, Michael (Denise) Riffle of Suffield; daughter, Carolyn (Susie) Riffle of Buchhannon WV; grandchildren, Allen and Brandon Riffle; sisters, Delores (Jess) Good of Coventry and Leona (Harold) Reed of Buchhannon WV; brother, Marple Riffle of Tallmadge; numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Home Missionary Baptist Church, 1922 Oakes Dr., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Patterson, Rev. Jimmie Ellis and Rev. Keith Emhoff officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park with Mogadore V.F.W. Post 8487 providing military honors.
