Rev. Herbert A. Stoneking
Rev. Herbert A. Stoneking, 88, of Uniontown OH, passed away March 8, 2010 at Akron City Hospital. He was born September 18, 1921 in Charleroi, PA to the late Robert & Ethel (Mason) Stoneking. Hebert served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later retired from Mohawk Rubber where he served as Union President. He pastored Northfield Community Church for over 30 years and served as Chaplain for the V.F.W. of which he was a lifetime member. Herbert was an avid hunter and loved baseball. He played with Phil Rizzuto while in the Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie J. Stoneking; brother, Robert Stoneking; and nephew, Robert Stoneking. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Carol "Cookie" Baltzly (David), Kathy Ellen Tilker (Bill), and Barbara D. Stoneking; grandchildren, David and Steve Varner, Lisa Steuck, Zachary "Arthur" Baltzly, Rayna Hershberger, Charlie Tilker, John Nichols, Angela Poole, Hunter Stoneking and Rachel Stoneking; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Marylee Stoneking; brother, Ralph "Ben" Sharpnack (Jane).
