Rev. Johna. Snyder

The Reverend John Snyder, age 77, lost his long fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 24, 1936 in Akron to the late John and Ruth (Still) Snyder. John served as Pastor of McNaughton St. Baptist Church for 30 years and was a substitute teacher in the Akron school system for 10 years. He resided in Bradenton, FL the last 12 years where he was active in the community.

John will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He loved the poor as Jesus loved them...well done good and faithful servant. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and John Snyder, stepfather James Still, brother William Snyder and nephew Joel Snyder.

John is survived by his sister Patricia (Ken) LeMasters, nieces; Cynthia (Larry) Dumire, Karen (Mark) Round, Lisa (Steve) Wallbrown, Caroline (Mark) Heckert and Danielle (Jason) Pandrea, nephews; Michael LeMasters and Johnathan Snyder, many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 14, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Friends may call 10-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St, PO Box 547, Akron, OH 44309-0547.
