Rev. H. Parsons

Reverend Raymond H. Parsons, 89, of Akron, went into the arms of Jesus on October 17, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1934 the son of the late Raymond and Dessel Parsons. He retired from Goodyear after 41 years of dedicated service. Raymond then went on to earn an Associate Degree in Theology from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. Raymond was a man of great faith and served the Lord as an Associate Pastor at Ellet Community Church of God and Cottage Grove Church of the Nazarene. He read his Bible daily from a young man until the day he met his Lord and Savior. He will always be remembered for his love of music, loving heart, infectious smile, sense of humor, and great love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children Robin LaBonte, Terry (Ronald) Deberry, Richard (Teresa) Parsons, Bernard (Nancy) Parsons, Nancy (John) Frymier; brother Dale (Eve) Parsons; and granddaughter Elizabeth DeCoux Maxey.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, married on July 4th, 1952, Viola Parsons; son David (Karen) Parsons; sister Georgie Gunnel; grandchildren Hiram Parsons, Rachael (Ryan) Christian, Rebecca (John) Miller, Patience Parsons, Dustin Kraisinger, Scott (Melissa) Galloway, David (Nicole) Parsons, Victoria (James) Taylor, Christina (Randy) McKaney, DeAnna (David) Smart, Billy Heath, Kathie Henderson, Kimberly DeCoux, Tearra Edwards, and Tanya De Coux; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 27th, at 11:00am at Ellet Community Church of God (2700 Priscilla Dr., Akron, 44312) with Pastor Mitch Martin officiating.
