Jeanette Brant, 99, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Harry, as well as her two sons, Walter and Bill, to celebrate her 100th birthday. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends that she left behind.
Jeanette was born on September 4, 1918 to William and Sarah (Baum) Sickafoose, in Sandy Township, in the countryside of Magnolia, Ohio. She moved to Akron with her husband, Harry, where she resided for over 75 years. Jeanette was very active in her church, Family of Faith United Methodist, having started the nursery many years ago and caring for two generations of babies. Deeply rooted in her Christian values, Jeanette always made sure to help prepare any dinners that the church had-- most famous for her various flavored pies and sticky buns.
Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Harry Brant, and two sons, Walter and William Brant; parents, William and Sarah Sickafoose; sisters, Eloise Johnson, Mary Dee Fox; brother, Tom Sickafoose; and grandson, Mike Brant.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Andy) Montecalvo; daughter-in-law, Joyce Brant; sister, Chloan (Bob) Zito; grandchildren, Bob (Vickie) Brant, Jim (Lynn) Brant, Matthew (Billie Jean) Montecalvo, and Michelle (Paul) McHenry; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Ron Shultz will be held at 10am on Thursday July 26, 2018 at Greenlawn Memorial Park 2580 Romig Road Akron, Ohio 44320. A celebration of life will take place on September 1, 2018 for her 100th birthday, where we know she will be smiling down upon us.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mulberry Gardens for making her last 4+ years pleasurable, as well as the caring nurses at Cleveland Clinic Hospices Center.
