Richard G. Adelman, 87, of Akron passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 21, 2021. Born March 17, 1934, Richard grew up in and around Randolph and Akron, attending St Joseph Catholic school, and East High School. Richard worked a short time at Goodyear and then became a career truck driver, hauling the bricks that built many area plazas, shopping centers, and malls. Retiring with many honors in 1991, and enjoying his retirement in the Ellet area.
He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of antique cars, but most of all the joy he brought to his friends and family simply with his presence.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Delores Adelman, children George and Cheryl, parents Marc Adelman and Joan Gerber, siblings Roddy and David, great-granddaughter Brooklyn, as well as many close cousins and friends.
He is survived by his siblings Marilyn, Doris, Theresa, and Sonny; his grandchildren, Joseph (Alli), Eric (Kim) and Carl; great-grandchildren, Maddison, Brayson, Jayden, Kyle, Alex and Carl; step-daughter Shirley; former granddaughter-in-law Bobbie; special friends Jaunita and Danette.
Richard had a heart of gold and was known for helping everyone in every way he could. The void he leaves in our lives and hearts can never be filled, but his spirit lives on with those who knew him best.
At Richard's request, cremation will take place and a ceremony to honor him, as well as his wife and children, will take place at a date TBD.
