Richard C. Baker

Richard C. Baker, 80, died Nov. 12, 2017. Mr. Baker was a lifelong resident of Akron, and worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 39 years retiring in 1996. For the last two years he was a resident of Brookdale Bath where he had the help and support of many of the dedicated staff. He was an active member of First Church of God in Tallmadge where he volunteered with harvesters and lawn care.

Preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary, he is survived by daughter, Debra of Tallmadge, son Michael (Trillah) of Norton, sister Judith (Alan), grandchildren, April (Terrelle), Mike, and Derek (Kelly), great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 12 - 2 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at First Church of God, 464 Northeast Ave, Tallmadge, followed by Funeral Services at 2 pm with Pastor Josh Deeter and Douglas Walter officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the church.
