Richard E. Hill
Richard E. Hill, 91, passed away on September 19, 2009. He was born in Akron on April 7, 1918 to the late Earl and Jeanette Hill. Richard retired from General Tire in 1978 after 37 years of service. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Eleanor Folk and Dorothy Appleby; brothers Roy, Earl, and Jim Hill. Survivors include his beloved wife Kate, of 66 years; daughter Judy (Chuck) Simone; son Richard; sister Nina Nehlsen; brother Don; grandchildren Christie Simone, Troy (Mary) Simone, Tracy (Bob) King, Stephanie Shundry, and Brian (Rebecca) Simone; great-grandchildren Cameron, Zachary, Nicolette, Blake, Alex, and Dominic. Family and friends may gather on Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Graveside service Friday, 11 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
