Richard Russell Fike Sr.

Richard Russell Fike Sr., 76, of Akron, passed away on May 18, 2022. Rick was born in Akron on April 9, 1946 to the late Russell and Ua Fike. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and making others smile. Rick was a true outdoorsman and was happiest when fishing and hunting. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his son, Richard Fike Jr.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Phyllis Fike; son, Scott Fike; stepchildren, Kimberly (Bob) Boughman, Fred (Michelle) O'Connor, Dawn (Patrick VonScoy) O'Connor, David O'Connor, and Christina O'Connor; grandchildren, Jordan, Chad, Amber, Brandie, Shelly, Jessica, Chelsea, Alyssa, Caleb, Ryan, and Jayden; and nine great-grandchildren. "We love you, Grandpa!"
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 4-6 followed by a 6 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
