Richard "Dick" Hawkins, 91, of Akron, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 7, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 16, 1932 to Jacob and Verna Hawkins. Dick was a Navy Veteran (Seabee) of the Korean War. In his free time he loved baseball, especially watching his Dodgers, working in his yard, feeding the birds and squirrels and spending time with his family and grand-dogs.
In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Lou; son, Rick; son-in-law, Michael Blair. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Mary Jo (Tom) Hicks, Cindy Blair; grandchildren, Jamie Hicks, Ricky Hawkins, Phillip Blair; special friends, Roy and Vi Hostetler.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Dick will be laid to rest with his wife at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
