Richard Owen Hopkins, Jr.

Richard Owen Hopkins, Jr., 19, went to be with his father in Heaven on June 20, 2017. Richie was a beloved son, brother, fiance, grandson, uncle and all around wonderful man and a positive role model to his peers. He was born in Nash Co., NC to Alisha Lee Harmon and Richard Owen Hopkins, Sr. He was a 2016 graduate of East CLC and was active in cross country and MCJROTC, having won the TOPS and Derek Wyatt Awards. He was devoted to the community and was an out-standing citizen. Richie was the go-getter and always gave 110% with an affectionate smile. He was the most humble and kind person you would ever meet and he would always go out of his way to help others.

Richie was engaged to his one and only high school sweetheart, Brittany Lea Wilson, and expecting his first born daughter in September of this year.

Preceded in death by his father; grandfather, Bill Davis; step-father, William McCracken and uncle, Donnie Upchurch.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Alisha Lee Harmon (Charles Ezzell); two sisters and three brothers; very special Uncle B; step-father, Donnie Richard Upchurch, Jr. (Raven); along with many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, special niece and nephew, and too many friends to list.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 1 pm until time of funeral service at 5:30 pm at Bailey Road Christian Church, 3200 Bailey Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. He will be laid to rest with his father at Pine View Cemetery in North Carolina.
