Richard J. ""Rick"" Horvath

Richard "Rick" James Horvath, age 54, of Akron passed away on May 21, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1969, to Albert and Irene. Rick served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany for 4 years. He had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar and singing with his bands. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his wife Denise. Rick loved cats and was referred to as the cat whisperer.
Rick is survived by his wife Denise Horvath; his children Forrest, Tyler, and Taylor; mother Irene Tenney; and brother Michael (Mary) Horvath.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert Horvath, and brother Ernest Horvath.

Visitation will be from 4-6PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Tuesday, June 4th, promptly at 2:15 PM.
