Richard John Ardelian

Richard John Ardelian, 72, went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2012.
Richard graduated from East High School and the University of Akron. He retired from the Akron Police Department after 26 years of service. Richard also served with the US Army. He enjoyed playing basketball, working out, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Rose Ardelian; sister, Carole Ann Ardelian.
Survivors include son, Jerry (Jenifer); grandchildren, Johnathan and Jacob; brother, Edward (Virginia); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 12:30-2:30 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
