Richard Kraus

Richard Kraus, 77, passed away suddenly after a short illness on July 23, 2017. He was born in Akron on May 16, 1940 to late parents Albert and Laura Kraus. Richard retired after 43 years of service at BF Goodrich. He enjoyed camping, watching the birds at the feeders, spending time with his dogs, reading history books, and took great pride in taking care of his yard and flowerbeds. For the past 12 years he and his wife spent the winters in Myrtle Beach.

Richard was an avid Mogadore sports fan for 49 years, especially the Wildcat football games. He loved going to football practice and Thursday night practices under the lights. His presence in the stands will be missed.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Vivian; daughters, Kristine (Gabe) Pierce and Kathleen (Carlos) Caballero; granddaughter, Hannah Pierce; sister, Linda (Pete) Langenek; nephews, Rick and Brian Langenek; and his beloved dog, Kasper.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Cremation will take place at a later date.
