Richard L. DeWalt
Richard L. DeWalt, 65, passed away June 5, 2009 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was a lifetime resident of the City of Green. Richard graduated from Green High School in 1964, and was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U. S. Marine Corps. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. and Lubie DeWalt; brother, Edward DeWalt; and grandson, Dylan Whitt. Richard is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Kevin) Bry of Green, and Meredith (Eric) Fredrickson of Jackson Twp.; son, Brian (Tera) DeWalt of Wooster; grandchildren, Nicholas DeWalt, Brandi DeWalt, Tylor Whitt, Cortney DeWalt, Devin Bry, Karen DeWalt, Cody Fredrickson and Kylee Bry; and caring friend, Wanda of Akron. He was very much loved, and will be missed. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, at 10 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
