Richard L. Warren Sr.

Richard L. "Dick" Warren Sr., 78, of Akron, passed away on January 14, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born in Akron on April 25, 1939 to the late Orville and Helen Warren. Dick began his career with the Summit County Sheriff Office in 1961 as a uniformed dispatcher. He rose through the ranks and concluded his career as the Summit County Sheriff, serving from 1994 to 2001. Dick was a longtime member of the National Gun/Knife Collectors Association. He enjoyed annual trips to Florida and frequent visits to Las Vegas. Dick will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Alice; children, Rick (Kris) Warren, David (Sue) Warren, Kathy (Andy) Figley, and Brian (Stacie) Warren; grandchildren, Tony, Brent, Nicole (Allen), Lindsey (Justin), Kaitlin, Zachary, Jacob, Miranda, Abby, and Steven; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Alex; siblings, Charlotte, Burdetta, Jo-Ann, Jim, and David; many other relatives and friends. Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Northside Christian Church, 7615 Ridge Rd, Wadsworth, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
