Richard Lynch, 94, of Akron, passed away April 13, 2016. He was born on July 14, 1921 in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Navy and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 45 years of service. He loved volunteering at Akron General Medical Center where he will be remembered for passing out candy to anyone who came his way. Richard was also an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed gardening and had a passion for fishing. Most of all, he loved his family and was happiest when he was with them.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bettie; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ray Myers; daughter-in-law, Sheri Lynch; grandchildren, David Myers and Christine Thacker; and sisters, Ruth Lynch, Audrey Woodling, Donna Hopkins, Mary Jarvis, Esther Duke, and Doris Fisher.
He will be deeply missed by his children, John Michael Lynch (Pam Harris), Letha (Joe) Koerschner, and Candace Costilow (Bob Collica); sister, Jean Christy; and countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 12 pm until time of funeral service at 1 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
