Richard Mccall

Richard "Ricky" McCall, 69, of Akron, passed away on March 17, 2023. He was born in Franklin, PA on May 4, 1953 to the late Wayne and Sarah {Widel} McCall. The family moved to the Akron area when he was a child, and he spent the rest of his life here.

In addition to his father Wayne and his beloved mother Sarah, Ricky was preceded in death by his sister Sally Spangler.

Ricky is survived by his sisters Judy (Jim) LaDow and Sue Dewey; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and a large network of supportive friends who loved him dearly.

Ricky worked as a bartender for over 40 years, spending over 30 years at Tear-Ez, where patrons became regulars, regulars became friends, and friends became family. Those closest to Ricky will miss his easy smile, his sarcastic wit, and his classic eye roll....there will always be a void where his larger-than-life presence once stood.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Friday, March 31st from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., with a brief celebration of Ricky's life following at 6:00 p.m. He will be privately laid to rest next to his mother Sarah, in their hometown of Franklin, PA.
