Richard A. Mitchell

Richard A. Mitchell, age 84, of Akron passed away in the comfort of his home with family by his side on November 19, 2024 after fighting a very aggressive form of cancer. He was born in Akron on October 29, 1940 to the late John E. and Dolores (Lowe) Mitchell. He spent 37 loyal years to Lawson/ Schwebel's Bakery and retired in 2005. As Pops to many, he loved his 1973 Plymouth Valiant to car shows and watching wrestling. Everyone says he was the hardest working man they ever knew always busy doing something. He will be missed by many!

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 yeas Beverly; 5 children Rick (Barb), Colleen Mazey, Mike (Kelly), Kevin (Theresa) and Gary; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Shirley and Penny; plus many many friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Ronnie and Bobby.

Visitation will be held Tuesday November 26 from 4-6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. A time of sharing begins at 6PM.
