Richard Mooney

Richard K. Mooney, Jr., 79, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2016. He was born on Decemeber 10, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to the late Richard and Doris Mooney. Richard was a retired Teamster and an Air Force veteran. He was also a member of the local VFW and American Legion Post, where he enjoyed playing cards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Marjorie, of Naples, FL; brother-in-law Tommy, and nephew Tommy Patton, Jr.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Carol; children, Richard III, Kimberly Ott, Kathey (Terry) Bailey, and Tammy (Curt) Lindsay; grandchildren, Alisha (Brian) Cullion, Ronnie, Jason, Macie, Ryan, Connor, and Liam; multiple great-grandchildren; and sisters, Kay (Donald) Cooper and Rosalie Patton.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 3-6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 18, 2016. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.newcomerakron.com.
