Richard Christopher Newman

Richard Christopher Newman, "Ricky", age 26 of Akron, Ohio, died on New Years Eve, December 31, 2022 following injuries that were sustained in a car accident.

He was born on May 13, 1996 in Barberton, the son of Christopher Gaskins and Joy Newman both of Akron.

Ricky loved to fish, listen to music, sports, hiking and loved to dine out, exploring new restaurants. He was the peacemaker of the family. He was a jokester and when someone encountered him, you walked away feeling like you've known him forever.

Ricky lived for helping others and for enriching the lives of everyone he came across. He loved his family and friends and leaves such a loving/caring legacy behind him. Ricky lit up a room with is gracious smile and his infectious laugh.

In addition to his parents, other survivors include his siblings, Russell Newman and Hannah (Anthony "AJ") Goodale; his nephew, Baylor Goodale; his grandparents, Richard C. Newman Jr "PaPa", Linda (nee Brown) Doyley, Brenda (nee Bennett) Lemon and Kenneth Carl (Debby) Gaskins; his best friend/'brother', Brandon (Kayla) Zold; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends that mourn his loss.

Those that preceded him in death were his son, Carson Parker Newman; and his grandfather, Charles C. Lemon; his great-grandparents, Esther (nee Kozy) Newman and William and Betty (nee Asher) Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio.

Family and friends many visit on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
