Richard P O'Brien Jr. passed away April 6, 2018 at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr.; mother, Erma whom he loved dearly; his sister, Patricia Neilson, and brother, Donald. Dick lived in Akron and was a graduate of East High School, did a tour in Vietnam and worked at Goodyear and Motor Wheel. At the age of 28 he traded in his '68 Mustang for a station wagon when he married the love of his life, Barbara Mears, who had 5 children. Dick became disabled later in life with diabetes and heart problems due to Agent Orange which caused his legs to be amputated, but that didn't stop him from loving every single one of Barbara's 15 grandchildren, 18-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. His love for his grandchildren is what made him want to get up every morning. He was so proud of each of you. Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Mears), his sister, Mary and Ray Thomas, stepchildren, Lori and Steve Evans, Rebecca Brandt, Rose and Tom Livigni, Mari and Todd Sutton, William "Billy" McCoy Jr., and niece Laura and nephew Neil, cherished cousin, Bill Ross and many grandchildren. Rest in Peace. Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local VFW or Wounded Warriors.
