Richard L. "Dick" Rinesmith
Richard L. "Dick" Rinesmith, 74, of Akron, passed away July 5, 2007 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was born June 12, 1933 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Herbert E. & Celia R. (Morehart) Rinesmith. Dick served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and later retired in 1995 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 27 years of service. He was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church and the American Legion of Mogadore. In his free time, Dick loved motorcycles, old cars and Blue Grass music. He loved to travel and take vacations with his family as well as watching many NASCAR races. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Rinesmith; daughter, Beverly Rinesmith; and sister, Elizabeth Shaffer. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Pauline (nee Dye); daughters, Becky Lloyd (George) and Brenda Rinesmith; step-children, Barbara Anderson and Jim Hill (Karen); his grandchildren whom he was very proud of and loved very much, Michael, Karen and Chyanna Lloyd, Jeff Corbin (J.D.) ; brothers, Herbert II, Ken (Dottie) and Ron (Sandy); and his extended family in South Carolina. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Donald Davies officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Arlington Memorial Baptist Church Food Cupboard.
