Richard S. Green, 75, of Kent, passed away on July 20, 2024. He was born on July 13, 1949, the son of the late Herman and Rita Green. He lived a life filled with remarkable experiences and touched the hearts of many along the way. He proudly served his country in both the U.S. Air Force and Army. He was a man of great faith and was well known for his unwavering kindness, laughter, and genuine compassion towards everyone he encountered. His positive outlook on life was a guiding light for those around him. Richard retired after 45 years from Thermo Fisher. In his professional life, Richard excelled as a dedicated employee, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the success of any project he undertook. His work ethic and integrity earned him respect from colleagues and peers worldwide. In his personal life, Richard was known at car dealerships as a man who would say "Let's Make a Deal," always helping friends and family get the best bargain. He enjoyed the outdoors especially working in his vegetable garden and sharing his produce with others.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on through the memories shared by those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that he significantly impacted the world around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Ronald Green. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy Green; children Heather (Aron Towns) Green, Daniel (Christa) Green, and Mont (Frank) Green; beloved grandchildren Wesley, Owen, Calvin, and Avin; sisters Debbie (Doug) Marken and Diane Wright; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14th from 3 pm-6 pm at The Center: Events and Catering-4157 Hudson Dr. Stow, Ohio 44224. A brief eulogy will be at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at the Celebration of Life or to the Haven of Rest.
