Richard C. Schindler

Richard C. Schindler, 73, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Heather Knoll in Tallmadge. Born in Mansfield, Ohio to Clayton, Sr. and Edith (Dunkel) Schindler, he lived in the Akron area most of his life. Rick was proud of his service in the U. S. Army, which included deployment in Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for Conway Express as well as other companies. Rick enjoyed watching sports, old TV shows, classic cars, traveling with his wife on one tank trips throughout Ohio.

Rick loved his family and was generous, giving and helpful to everyone.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Darelle Collins, Clayton "Rock", Schindler, Jr. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 21 years, Susan; children, Audri (Phillip) Burgess, Michelle Schindler, Laura Horn, Brandon Schindler; step-daughter, Jill (Ryan) Flowers; granddaughters, Lilly, Marissa, LaKiyah, LaRayah; sister, Debby (Tom) Short; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Schindler, Leona Collins

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
