Richard "Ricky" W. Staubs

Richard "Ricky" W. Staubs, 47, of Tallmadge, died on January 30, 2005 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1957 in Akron. Richard was a 1976 graduate of East High School. He was a member of Amos Englebeck Masonic Lodge, Mogadore Moose and Yusef Khan Grotto. Richard was an avid softball player and fan; served as an assistant softball coach at Garfield High School and was coach of a traveling softball team, "Outtacontrol;" was a USSSA Umpire; and in his later years enjoyed the art of painting. He had a large heart and loved everyone. Richard is preceded in death by his father, William A. Staubs, Jr.; brother, James R. Staubs; father-in-law, Russell A. Statler; sister-in-law, Linda K. Statler. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Terrie (Statler) Staubs; mother, Frances L. Staubs; daughters, Amber Kay and Brittany Ann Staubs; sisters, Teri (Wolf) Heil and Janet L. (Jim) Cooley; brother, William A. Staubs III; mother-in-law, Ima Jean; brother-in-law, Jerry; sisters-in-law, Carol, Nancy, Dottie, Nina and Renee; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends including special friends, Steve Smith, Nancy Harris and Lena Pope who provided great support and help. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ben Cully officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
