Richard Bruce Tate, "Richie", age 69 of Akron, Ohio, died on Monday, October 22, 2018.
He was born on October 2, 1949 in Akron, the son of the late Richard and Dorothy (nee Dye) Tate.
Richie was a graduate of East High School. He was a pipefitter/welder for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #219 in Akron. Mr. Tate enjoyed watching and playing baseball, he was an avid Cleveland sports fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially going to see his grandsons play sports. Richie's personality was that of a caring, happy, humorous, and loving man.
Survivors include his children, Nicole C. (Jerry) Fuller, Ryan J. Tate, and Jenna D. Tate; his grandsons, Jayden, Justin, Carter, and Jaxon. His brother also survives, Gene Tate; and his former wife, Terri Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Eastwood Church of the Brethren, 581 Darrow Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
