Richard William Bell "AWOL"
Richard William Bell, lovingly known as "AWOL", passed away early Wednesday morning. A lifelong resident of Lakemore, AWOL was known for his heart of gold, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert William Bell and mother-in-law, Marie Schrader. At 50 years young, AWOL is survived by his wife of 28 years, Dorothy; mother, Madeline Bell; loving children, Bobby (Kerry), Bonnie (Jason), Megan (Ronald) and Samantha; his five adoring grandchildren, Kylie, Haylee, A.J., Gracie and Trinity; 7 brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. AWOL forged many lifelong friendships including the Carter family, Charlie Wilson and family, and James Burge are among the many. He will never be forgotten. Our love to you, AWOL, forever. He will always be in our hearts. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 p.m. with Mayor David Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Greentown Cemetery.
