Richard W. Thompson "Rick"
Richard W. Thompson, 49, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away June 24, 2012. Rick was born in Akron on September 23, 1962 to the late Bill and Jeanette Thompson.
He was an avid Steelers fan and music lover. A terrific cook, Rick always enjoyed making food for family reunions. Above all, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kerpsie and father-in-law, Daniel Beachy. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl; children, Richard and Christina; sisters, Joyce Thompson and Billie Inch; brother, Michael; grandchildren, Richard, Cameron, and Krystalyn; mother-in-law, Janet Beachy; special aunts, Renae Nicholas; special nephews, Jeremey and Jonathan Archer; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Rick also leaves many friends including special friend, Wendy. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. On Thursday, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Community Baptist Temple, 1398 Canton Rd., with Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rick's family.
