Rick E. Speck

Rick E. Speck, 46, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2016. Rick was born in Akron, Ohio on April 20, 1970. While living in California, he worked as a Fireman for the California Department of Fire, and upon returning to Ohio, Rick worked as a bouncer at Club Energy and was a dedicated employee for the last 15 years at S.D. Myers, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.I. Speck and JoAnn Cypryla.

He is survived by Jennifer Speck; children, Garrett, Riley, and Abby Speck; brothers, Mark and Bill Speck; step-mother, Paulette Speck; step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, nephews, and many close friends, including Mike Huber, Eric Long and Mike Thompson.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7:30 pm. The family asks that if you have any pictures or mementos that you would like to share, you are welcome to bring them in for the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
