Rick (Rickie) Eugene Ford

Rick E. Ford, 57, from Tallmadge, Ohio was brought into this world on Sept. 25th, 1954 and departed this life on Feb. 29th, 2012. Rickie was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Claire Eugene Ford and Thelma Pearl Ford. He was 2nd oldest of 5 children. He graduated from Ellet High School. He was last employed with GOJO, but was before employed with Giant Eagle for many years. He had two sons whom he loved dearly that later gave him the joy of grandchildren. Rickie was a very special man that touched the hearts of those around him and he will be greatly missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claire Eugene Ford and Thelma Pearl Ford. He is survived by sons, Matthew Eugene Ford (Carol) and Adam Clee Ford (Mandy); his siblings, Caroline (Bob) Dugan, Gary Ford, Darlene Hurst, and Wyatt Ford; his Grandchildren by Adam: Ian Michael Robert Long, Hunter Eugene Ford, Dyllan Michael, Cameron David, Darrien Christopher; and by Matthew: Casey and Jasmine Rumora; One niece, Misty Gumpl, who was like a daughter to him; Two nephews, Brian Gumpl and Michael Dugan; and many great-nephews. He also leaves Don Detwiler, his best friend of 35 years; Brian Alexander, who is like another son to Rickie; Mamoun Alsharif and Ken Bull who are also close friends of the family. Visitation will be held for friends and family on Wed. March 7th, 2012 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Cremation will take place following his services.
