Rick W. Husk

Rick W. Husk, age 70, of Akron passed away on July 8, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1954, to Gilbert "Bill" Husk and Evanglee McGlothin. Rick loved participating in the Special Olympics. Rick enjoyed watching football, especially the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed basketball, going out for rides, and going to McDonald's for a Coke. Rick loved the outdoors and always talked about living in West Virginia in the hollers. He loved the Brookshire Family, that was his family and his home. Ricky had a life dealt to him that he hadn't asked for, but he lived it to the fullest.

Rick is survived by his mother Evanglee McGlothin; siblings Barbara Husk, Sheila (John) Laughlin, Darlene (Bob) Seaver, Patty Bailey, Billy Husk, James Spindle, Edward Spindle, and Thomas Spindle; step-mother Ethel Tipton; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father Gilbert "Bill" Husk, sister Billie Jean Holsomback, brother Robert Lee, and step-father Willie McGlothin.

Visitation will be from 4-6PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home with a service to follow at 6:00PM. Private burial will take place at Ellet Cemetery North Springfield Presbyterian Church.
