Rick Mcgaffick

Rick McGaffick, 62, of Akron, died November 27, 2010 after a brief illness. Rick graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1966 and served in the US Navy from 1966-1970, stationed in Vietnam, serving his country with honorable and distinguished service. Rick enjoyed fishing, watching sports, playing cards, going to Duffy's, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Blake; father, Raymond; and stepmother, Dorothy. He is survived by children, Rene (Mark) Golden, Bill (Tracy), Mike, and Molly; grandchildren, Andrea, Hannah, Paige, and Joey; siblings, Ron (Pat) McGaffick, Cindi (Ken) Rudes; stepbrother, Reed (Susan) Morehouse; dear and gracious friends, Fred and Nancy Weber, Dan Edwards, and his buddies from his Vietnam days. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with Rev. Howard Duma officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
